Our Team of McKinney Veterinarians

Dr. Wesley TaylorA native of North Texas, Dr. Wesley Taylor is the Owner and Medical Director of Highlands-Eldorado Veterinary Hospital. Voted Best Veterinarian by McKinney Magazine for multiple years, Dr. Taylor has been passionate about caring for animals since his start in the veterinary field in 1980. After attending Rice University for undergrad in 1988, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A & M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1995. Dr. Taylor’s areas of professional interest include orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, cardiology and working in police K-9 medicine. In addition to his practice responsibilities, he serves as the President of the Texas Police K-9 Foundation. For the past 20 years he’s lived on a ranch north of McKinney with his wife, Alicia. They enjoy spending time with all of their animals, including four dogs, three horses and a one-eyed mockingbird.

Dr. Lauren Strazdis

Dr. Lauren Anthony is an Associate Veterinarian at Highlands-Eldorado Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Anthony graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 and was the Salutatorian of her class. In addition to her education, Dr. Anthony also completed Advanced Ultrasound Training from the Academy of Veterinary Imaging and is a Fear Free Certified Professional. Her areas of professional interest include advanced soft tissue surgery with a special interest in surgical oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, and exotic animal medicine.

Dr. Anthony has been working in the veterinary field for over ten years and was inspired by her desire to give back to animals who give so much to us. Her favorite part about being a veterinarian is having the opportunity to improve the quality of life for pets and their owners. Her husband, Dr. Daniel Anthony, is also a small animal veterinarian! A true animal lover, Dr. Anthony has five rescue dogs named Nala, Ladybug, Sophie, Winnie and Faith, a rescue cat named Stella, a bearded dragon named Frisco, a leopard gecko named Rosie, and two horses named Atlas and Vader. In addition to her work in the veterinary field, Dr. Anthony lived at an African wildlife sanctuary for multiple summers where she cared for lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. Dr. Anthony also participates in competitive equestrian show jumping with her horse, Vader.
